Geoffrey Knox is president of Geoffrey Knox & Associates, a consulting firm that creates communications strategies and strategic planning processes for progressive non-profit organizations at the local, national and international levels. The firm works on a diverse set of issues, but has gained significant expertise in global public health issues, sexual and reproductive health and rights, HIV/AIDS, LGBT equality, and child welfare reform.
The firm has implemented communications strategies, coordinated media campaigns, and/or facilitated strategic planning for a variety of clients including, among others: International Women’s Health Coalition, Women’s Refugee Commission, Guttmacher Institute, Task Force for Global Health, National Institute for Reproductive Health, Modern Language Association, Middle East Studies Association, International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission, and Open Society Institute/Public Health Watch.
Prior to founding the firm in 1993, Geoffrey Knox spent 12 years working in non-profit organizations, directing the first communications efforts at The Vera Institute of Justice and The New York City Campaign Finance Board. He also served as Director of Communications at Gay Men’s Health Crisis and the American Foundation for AIDS Research during the height of the AIDS epidemic in the US.
