For vulnerable communities around the world, the climate crisis is not something that will happen in the distant future. It is destroying lives and livelihoods now. We cannot afford more years of delay and injustice. That’s why we need you to call the White House and ask President Biden to commit to reducing U.S. climate pollution and support poorer countries to do the same!
I’d like to leave a message for President Biden.
President Biden, the United States’ fair share of global climate action must include advancing environmental justice and phasing out fossil fuels while providing international assistance to Global South countries. Our communities are calling on you to:
- Stop the Bad. Stop approving fossil fuel projects. These projects are fueling climate chaos and are disproportionately harming Black, Indigenous, Brown, AAPI and working-class communities.
- Build the Good. Declare a climate emergency. Repair the harm caused by environmental racism and Build Back Fossil Free, delivering jobs, justice, and clean energy for all.
- Do the Climate Fair Share. Commit to a 195% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in the U.S. Nationally Determined Contribution. This 195% reductions target is rooted in our country’s historical responsibility for emissions and in our government’s capacity to act.
