Cyclone Nargis: Emergency in Myanmar
Cyclone Nargis hit Myanmar on Saturday with wind speeds reaching 120mph bringing a sea surge that smashed through towns and villages. The latest information from the Myanmar government has the death toll over 22,000 with hundreds of thousands individuals affected, while thousands are still missing. ActionAid is currently working in the worst affected area of Irrawaddy, where we are identifying the key needs of the affected population along with our local partner KDN.
