We are currently seeking two International Development Policy Interns to work in our Washington, DC office. This internship position seeks a candidate interested in international development policy and issues related to land rights, global hunger, food sovereignty, and advocacy for a just reconstruction in Haiti.
The fall and full-year internship periods span from September until December 2013 or September 2013 to June 2014 but exact dates are flexible. We are looking for at least 20 hours per week, with a preference for full-time. The position is unpaid.
This internship position seeks a candidate interested in international development policy and issues related to land rights, global hunger, food sovereignty, and advocacy for a just reconstruction in Haiti. The position is open to students with interest and experience in the field of international development. Fluency in other languages, particularly Haitian Creole and/or French, is highly desirable.
The positions will support ActionAid USA’s ongoing policy and campaign work on international development policy, with a focus on agricultural development policy, biofuels, and Haiti policy. It will also include outreach to students on campaigning related to our youth network Activista and promotion of our Global Platform trainings. Activities will include research, writing and production of materials, event planning, attending meetings, and some administration.
